Batter Reaches First Before a Foul Ball

Is a batter safe at first if a bunted ball trickles foul after the runner reaches first base? Or is it deemed foul regardless of where the runner is on the bath path?
This is a foul ball. It does not matter where the batter is when the ball goes foul and the batter needs to return to the plate to bat and the runners need to return to their bases.
