Gary from the United States asks:
If a swinging third strike hits the ground and is caught by the catcher on a bounce, is the batter out?
If the ball bounces before reaching the catcher on a swinging third strike then it will be treated as a normal dropped third strike. Because of this, the batter is automatically out if first is occupied with less than two outs, but is allowed to attempt to advance to first before being put out by the defense in any other situation.
