Ron from Oklahoma asks:
Score is tied 1 to 1 after 8 1/2 innings. Home team loads the bases and the batter hits home run. What's the final score?
The final score of this game would be 5-1 being as all runners and the batter would score. When a home run ends the game, the batter and all runners are allowed to score.
Interestingly, this rule has been adjusted relatively recently and, previously, the official scorer would have only given the team the amount of runs needed to win in any situation, in this case 1. This is still the case for any hit but a home run in the modern day rules
