Tag Forcing a Runner's Hand Off the Base
A Baseball Fan from The Baseball Field asks:
A runners hand is firmly on the bag and the fielder tags his hand hard enough to knock it off and holds the tag after he knocks the hand off. Is the runner out?
Yes, if the tag is totally legal and the hand comes off the tag is good and the runner is out. This would be no different from a foot coming off after a tag.
